Jocelyn and Marc celebrated their union together on October 26th, 2019 at North Corner Haven.

Marc owns a Charlotte, North Carolina based menswear boutique called the Sporting Gent. (If you haven’t heard of it check them out here: https://www.thesportinggent.com/ ) He found the farm not long after we opened and held a few photoshoots on the property for his store. Jocelyn fell in love with the property and Marc called us the day after he proposed.

The couple opted for a rustic, southern vibe. The weather was picturesque; the perfect fall evening in Lancaster, South Carolina.

The couple married on the front lawn in front of friends and family. The flower girls and ring bearer almost stole the show!

Burying a bottle of bourbon is a tradition that, if done correctly, is supposed to ward off rain the day of your wedding. Those who swear by this Southern myth say that the bride and groom must visit their venue exactly one month before their wedding date and bury a full bottle of bourbon upside down. Both coming from southern roots; Jocelyn and Marc did just that. Post ceremony they dug up the bottle as the tradition had worked and the weather couldn’t have been any better!

Cocktails and Canapes (including North Corner Haven Pigs in a Blanket) were served in the courtyard using our North Corner Haven custom round wood bar. The groom had special wooden bar menus made to go along with the theme. Specialty cocktails were served; his, a Bourbon & Ginger, hers, Honey Time Margarita.

Dinner and dancing were held in our event barn. Heather and her team from Heatherly Event Design transformed the barn into a rustic oasis. Fabric was draped from the beams and beautiful greenery ordained the tabletops.

Dinner was served family style; a Fall Harvest Salad, North Corner Haven Pulled Pork and Chicken along with Brussel Sprouts and Butternut Squash. And for dessert, a wedding cake just wasn’t enough! Three types of pie were served in addition to their traditional wedding cake; Pecan, Chocolate and Apple, this couple sure did have a sweet tooth!

The bride and groom christened the dance floor with their first dance. Immediately following the dance floor opened to all and boy can this crowd dance!

Conversations were shared by the fire pit and memories were made that will last a lifetime.
